Family Self-Sufficiency Program for VCTT Housing Choice Voucher Holders

The FSS Program is voluntary and helps voucher holders build financial independence and long-term stability through personalized coaching, skill-building, community resources, and an escrow savings opportunity.

What the Program Offers

• Financial coaching: create a budget, build credit, reduce debt, and plan for your goals.
• Career support: job-readiness training, resume help, interview coaching, and connections to employers.
• Supportive services: connections to childcare, transportation, education, healthcare, and other community resources.
• Escrow savings: as income grows, a portion of the rent increase may be deposited into an escrow account in your name, subject to program requirements.

Who Can Sign Up?

• VCTT Housing Choice Voucher holders who are willing to set and pursue self-sufficiency goals with an FSS Coordinator over a 5-year contract period. Complete enrollment and begin your plan.

How to Get Started

1. Contact the FSS Coordinator.
2. Attend an FSS orientation.
3. Meet with your coordinator and set goals.
4. Complete enrollment and begin your plan.

Participation is voluntary. Enrollment requires an orientation, goal-setting, and commitment to the FSS contract. Graduates who complete their contract goals may receive their escrow balance.
